Getting there
Please plan to arrive in Zürich well before 16:00 on Monday, 7 December. Please arrange your own journey from home to Vitznau; the group journey from Vitznau is coordinated separately.
What you need to arrange
Accommodation
No hotel booking is needed. Accommodation from 7–10 December—and, for those who indicated during registration that they would like to stay an additional night, also 10–11 December—has been arranged and paid for. Any earlier or later nights must be arranged and paid for individually.
Travel to Vitznau
Please book and pay for your own travel from home to Vitznau. Public transport within Switzerland can be booked online in advance or purchased easily at railway stations using multilingual ticket machines. If you have difficulties booking public transport in Switzerland, please contact Maura.
Travel reimbursement
If you are claiming reimbursement for travel expenses, please complete the reimbursement form and return it to Maura with the required receipts.

At Zürich Airport
Allow enough time
If you are eligible and electronic passport-control gates are available, consider using them rather than staffed passport control; this may save considerable time.
For an international arrival, allow approximately three hours from your scheduled landing time to the 15:49 train. The 15:49 train from Zürich Flughafen to Zürich HB is the latest train that should be taken to catch the planned 16:05 connection from Zürich HB.

Rigibahn. Earlier departures are at 15:15 and 16:15; after 17:40, the next departure is at 19:15.
Rigi Staffelhöhe → Kräuterhotel Edelweiss
The hotel is approximately 50 metres from Rigi Staffelhöhe station and can be reached on foot. No further railway connection is needed.
You cannot get a taxi to Kräuterhotel Edelweiss and cannot drive directly there. From Vitznau, either hike up to the hotel or take the Rigibahn to Rigi Staffelhöhe and walk approximately 50 metres to the hotel. Please plan accordingly.
Group journey from Vitznau
Join the 17:40 group
We hope most participants will be in Vitznau by 17:30 so that we can reach the hotel in time for the apéro and evening meal. If at least 10 of us travel together, a group reservation and discount can be arranged.
If you join the group, Maura will purchase your ticket from Vitznau to Rigi Staffelhöhe. You do not need to buy this part of the journey yourself.
