Free time on Mount Rigi

Optional activities
The mineral bath at Rigi Kaltbad offers indoor and outdoor bathing with mountain views, as well as a separate spa area and bookable treatments.
Admission, treatments and other spa costs cannot be covered by the workshop and must be paid individually.
Visit the Mineralbad website ↗Mount Rigi has prepared winter hiking trails ranging from short walks to longer routes. Trail availability and difficulty depend on current mountain conditions.
Explore winter hiking ↗If there is enough snow and the routes are open, sledging is another option. Sledges can be rented on Mount Rigi when the runs are prepared and operating; rental is generally first come, first served.

December conditions on Mount Rigi can change quickly. Please bring warm layers, a waterproof outer layer, sturdy waterproof footwear, gloves and a hat. Anyone interested in the mineral bath should also pack swimwear.
Check the weather, trail status and winter-sports report before setting out, and use only routes that are officially open.
What conditions can look like
These photographs from Mount Rigi show realistic mountain conditions in November and January. Snow is possible, but so are fog, wet ground and rapidly changing visibility.
